Welcome to Silver Screen Loungerie! - The online mecca for vintage lingerie aficionados. This is where sirens & stars, sex-pots & pin-ups, bombshells & brides, divas & kittens, it-girls & party girls, femme fatales & pop princesses, goddesses & glamour queens, vixens & vamps, ladies & lasses, starlets & harlots, and Über fashionistas shop for the vintage lingerie of their dreams.
We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous (or original) owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring the item, as much as possible, to their original beauty.
Legendary designer, Yolande, created this stunning nightgown which is in near-mint condition. Along with other ‘Hand Made’ pieces by this famous designer, this ‘Chain-Link’ Siren nightgown is listed in both the “Nightgowns” and “Bridal Trousseau” categories.
This Yolande-labeled nightgown dates from the early-1940s, and it appears to be in wonderful condition. As stated in the label, this nightgown was “Hand Made”, and has French seams throughout. There are no flaws that we could find, and the rayon satin fabric is the best of its kind.
The gown features tiny “tubes” of self-fabric, which are twisted into a complex chain-link pattern that outlines the neckline, and defines the bust. The nightgown is modeled by our size 33, 5’ – 10” ‘Gloria’, who found the gown a delightful fit with room to spare! (The gown actually measures 36-plus inches around her chest-bust.)
This is truly one of Yolande’s best satin nightgowns, and it is eminently wearable by today’s sirens of their own boudoirs!
