This rayon nightgown dates from the mid-1940s, (during the WW-2 years), and is one of the “slipperiest” satin nightgowns in the New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie! This gown is listed in both the Nightgowns and Bridal Trousseau categories. Click one of the nine 'Gloria' models to visit our unique boutiques!
We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This Florelei-labeled nightgown conjures up visions of the slinky Hollywood movie starlets in the 1930s and 40s! The label is a bit faded, but we see a “38”. We measured a snug 38 inches from “pit-to-pit”. (Waist is 35 inches - max, around the lower waist seam.) Just be sure that your own body measurements are slightly less than the stated measurements.
The rayon satin fabric is very bright and slippery, and lights up the dark better than a candle! We found no flaws in the lace and satin fabrics… no holes, and no stains.
The gown features a lace bodice with wide lace shoulder straps. A 4 inches-wide “flirty flounce” goes all around the bottom of this gown – perfect for kicking up your heels on a ballroom dance floor!
On our 5’ – 11” in-house ‘Gloria’ model, the gown falls to just even with her ankles. This nightgown will be a wonderful present to a loved one or for yourself!
