This is one of the more unusual lounging garments from the flapper 1920s… a rarely-seen one-piece silk lounging pyjama that is in excellent condition! This seductive garment is listed here in the Lounging Pajamas and Flapper Frillies categories. Click on one of the 'Gloria' models to explore our special boutiques!
We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are committed to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been gently worn by just one previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring the items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This pink “flapper-girl” pyjama has no label, as most of these unique pieces were custom-made. We’ve never seen two identical ‘pyjamas’ of this unique style! The garment looks like a “legged” nightgown, and the torso section is bias-cut between the neckline and hips. There are attached waist ties made of silk ribbon, and there is no crosswise waist seam in front.
The silk charmeuse fabric is as soft as it originally was, and has no more than two or three widely-scattered pinholes. (No pinholes in the more visible places.) This is a step-in style garment, and has a 2-button closure at the left shoulder, and a single snap under the left armhole.
The pyjama also features very-wide legs, which are lace-trimmed, and 44 inches in circumference. Standing still, ‘Gloria’ looks like she is wearing a nightgown with an 88-inch hem!
