We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring the items – as much as possible, to their original beauty
This WW-2 vintage nightgown bears the well-known Lady Duff label, with this being a “Quality Rayon Fabric” made by Bur-Mil. (Burlington Mills) This gown was made to the highest standards during the WW-2 era, and the delicious crepe-de-chine fabric is among the smoothest that we’ve ever seen or felt. With this crepe-de-chine weave fabric, you can turn the gown inside-out, and not see or feel any difference!
With just a two tiny pinhead holes, (near the hem), this gown is in better than excellent condition. There are no stains, and the pinked seam allowances are as strong as they originally were. On our 5’ – 11” ‘Gloria’ model, the gown is 58 inches long… falling to just below Gloria’s ankles. Tagged as a “34 – 14”, the gown will accommodate up to a 36” bust.
For a gown that was made about 70 years ago, it is so desirable. It is eminently ready to wear, and fit for a 2011 Star – YOU – the Leading Star of your own Life!
