We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner.
This darling teddy is but one of several “pre-1930s” pieces that we will offer from late August, 2011 through September, 2011. All were made from the finest silks and laces, and decorative details, and all are just plain wonderful! Some (like this teddy) were made in the Victorian or Edwardian eras, and others were made during the Roaring Twenties. Condition ranges from excellent to never-worn! All of these early pieces are eminently wearable by today’s modern woman.
This enticing teddy is the “pullover” kind… you can either pull it on over your head, or step into it. There is a flap piece between the legs which is closed by three mother-of-pearl buttons. There is a silk ribbon that runs through the lace trim all around the neckline. Amazingly, this ribbon is still strong, but we didn’t pull on it to adjust the neckline size. There is also a ribbon around the right armhole, but the left armhole ribbon is gone. (Neither ribbon is needed.) The large silk flowered was photographed separately, and appears in the reclining image – 4th picture.
For a 100 years old lingerie piece, this teddy is in wonderful condition, with only a tiny age spot near the flap buttonholes. This teddy (and the others coming) is ready to wear and fit for today’s Star – YOU – the Leading Lady of your Life!
