Just one of the most head-turning nightgowns that we have ever seen! This is a hand-dyed beauty, and it’s in excellent vintage condition. This stunner can be be found in both the Nightgowns and Richard’s Collection categories. Click on one of the 'Gloria' models to visit our special boutiques!
We at Silver Screen Loungerie, endeavor to offer vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. While we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.
This gown was purchased in 2001 at the famous “Triple Pier Show” in New York. It has been photographed for inclusion in author Desire Smith’s soon-to-be-released (Jan. 2012) book on vintage lingerie. (The name of the book? “Irresistible”.)
This is a perfect example of what can be done to rescue a slightly-stained gown that is otherwise in excellent condition. This gown was hand-dyed (not “tie-dyed”), in a unique process which retains the beautiful “hand” (feel) of the crepe-de-chine weave fabric. The satin midriff panel extends into very-long and wide waist ties The maker’s label is dashing deb, and the dye also coloured the label!
This nightgown was cut very-full with extra-deep armholes and a half-circle skirt. (164 inches) Aside of a couple of pinholes, (buried in the folds of the skirt), the gown is in excellent condition with no stains and no holes that we could find. The seam allowances show moderate wear, but are still as strong as they originally were.
On our “in-house” ‘Gloria’ model, the hem goes almost to her ankles. The gown is definitely goddess-quality… just perfect for YOU, the Goddess of your own Boudoir Life!
