Dressy-Blue 40s! 1940s Never-Worn Rayon Bias-Cut Nightgown Sz- 40 (#1351)

This is one of our “dressiest” nightgowns, and it is in mint, unworn condition. The gown is housed in our New Jersey ‘HQ’ of Silver Screen Loungerie, and you will find it listed here in the Nightgowns and Richard’s Collection categories. Click on one of our 'Gloria' models to explore our special boutiques!

We at Silver Screen Loungerie, are dedicated to offering vintage lingerie items of the highest quality. Although we sometimes find the occasional “new/old stock” piece, (like this one!), most of our items have been either gently or moderately worn by a previous owner. By definition, “vintage” means “old”, and we take great care in restoring the items – as much as possible, to their original beauty.

The rayon fabric is of the highly-desirable crepe-de-chine weave… so rarely found today. Turn the gown inside out, and the reverse side looks and feels the same as the outside!

There is no manufacturer’s label…. just the pristine “Rayon – Size 40” tag. There was also “The May Co.” price tag, (discounted to $1.19?!), but this tag was detached and has been misplaced

The tagged “40” size is with the measuring tape running from “pit-to-pit”. On our 5’ – 11” ‘Gloria’ model, the gown drapes to just above her ankles. As always, please allow for “ease” and simple breathing room in this gown.

We are very pleased to offer this gown… one of the prettiest of the 1940s. It is also one of the prettiest gowns in the Year 2011!
