Bombshell Barbizon! 1930s X-Lg Sz 46 ‘Satin Dasché’ Bias Silk Nightgown

Please do NOT attempt to purchase, as this item is temporarily unavailable. The gown is being laundered to remove a faint inkspot. We will offer the gown when the spot has been removed.

This ‘Plus-Size Pretty’ nightgown was made in the mid-1930s by Barbizon. The gown is in excellent condition, and may have been worn just a few times at the most. The gown is listed in both the “Plus-Size Pretties” and “Richard’s Collection” categories. Click on one of the 'Gloria' models to explore our special Boutiques!
This one of the largest nightgowns we’ve had in the silk satin fabric. It is simply styled and has double-thickness fabric in both the front and back bodice sections. Our ‘Gloria’ is a size 33…. stands 5’ – 11”, and she almost “swims” in this nightgown!

The Barbizon label also states, “Made Of Satin Dasché”, which is “Barbizon-speak” for their fine silk satin fabrics. The style name of this gown is “Fullburn”.

The gown was well-constructed with invisible bodice seams, and has no so-called “bias-seams” near the hem. (Barbizon made their own lingerie fabrics in extra-wide widths.) There are a few scattered-and-faint soil marks, but the gown will be hand-laundered before shipping. The gown will be ready to wear, and fit for a Star – YOU – the Leading Lady of your life!
